I haven’t been responsible for Infrastructure in a while, but here’s some infrastructure projects I’ve worked on:
Remote Desktop Brokerage
Instead of statically assigning users to a particular terminal server on their thin client, rolled out new terminal servers as member of a brokerage, for load balancing and failover purposes. Figured out how to configure that on thin clients.
Hyper-V server setup & config – William Mattar
Setup a couple hypervisors for hosting windows terminal servers.
RADIUS – William Mattar
Configured RADIUS for HPE network switches, forcing port authentication for all wired devices (including Cisco phones!)
This site
Is self hosted. It is composed of 2 CentOS webservers running nginx (1 gateway server to split off domains, another to host wordpress). These CentOS webservers are VMs inside of a Proxmox Hypervisor, installed on a Dell PowerEdge R720, using local SSD storage.
It’s backed up to a homebuilt FreeNAS machine, ZFS stripe+mirror (software raid 10), over mounted NFS.
Domains registered from GoDaddy, A records pointing to home router which port forwards to the gateway webserver.
You’ll notice I also added a fun little security measure to nginx config on the gateway. http://www.trevorreusch.us/wp-admin
